Ocean Bottle have taken an innovative approach to this by going one step further. The sale of each bottle or cup will directly fund the clearance of plastic somewhere in the world, removing it from rivers before it hits the sea. Each purchase will fund the clearance of 11kg of plastic. To put that into context, that is 1,000 plastic bottles cleared for each bottle purchased.
It doesn’t stop there - Ocean Bottle have made sure that their cups and bottles are made in the most responsible way possible, using mostly recycled materials. They are also a B-Corporation which is perhaps the highest mark a company can achieve in the strive to be sustainable.

The 11kg of plastic collected for each sale is better expressed as the equivalent of 1,000 bottles but in reality many types of plastic are collected including non-recyclable plastic. This is then used to create energy.

Ocean Bottles are dishwasher proof. It is best to use warm soapy water most days but if you want a deeper clean then pop it in the dishwasher.
Just remove the cap, open the larger opening, take out the seals and put all the pieces in the dishwasher up to 60ºC. After washing your Ocean Bottle, leave it upside down to dry and store it with the lid off. If the dishwasher leaves water marks on your bottle, soak it in hot water (about 70ºC – the point where tiny bubbles start to appear in your kettle) for 3-5 seconds and they'll disappear. Oh and do wash your Ocean Bottle before you use it for the first time.
